E agora? , destinada às escolas.

Teaching of Astronomy
Resumé en anglais
This research analyzes the planetariums ability to contribute participatory in the teaching of astronomy within the school, from the summit session to external actions. The survey covers about 65% of the country's planetariums and school reviews collected by the author. The information shows that the school public is the most significant in the planetariums and that the operation and management teams of these spaces recognize the need to offer differentiated services to schools. However, we did not identify a structured methodology for school attendance. This operational and pedagogical failure of the planetariums reflects in the schools, since most of them do not know the functions and the potentiality of the planetariums in the construction of a solid education in sciences, especially astronomy. Although there is a demographic growth of fixes planetariums and, above all, mobile digitals, it is clear that the actions of these spaces are based on the experiences of attendance and not on educational projects that consider the difficulties of the students and the social differences between the school public. The exchange of administrative models resulting from political-administrative alternation creates an imminent risk of loss of the planetary characteristics and educational objectives. There is an evident confusion between the educational (school public) and recreational (general public) purposes of the planetariums. Most planetariums are dedicated to the general public. This research presents a historical context, recognizes the planetarium as a non-formal space for teaching science, especially astronomy, and uses the guidelines of the National Curriculum Parameters to support a proposal of interaction between school and planetarium. To do so, two informative booklets were produced: "The school is coming!", destined for the planetarium, and "Let's go to the Planetarium! And now?", destined for the schools.
