Abstract in English
In recent years, the significant increase in startups exploring opportunities in the market has brought development to the ecosystems involved, and vice versa, increasing the interest of governments, agencies and public entities, already established companies of all sizes and markets, public universities, private and other educational environments, and venture capital, interested in participating with startups in the creation of the New Economy and the competitiveness provided by them. Although there are many acceleration programs available in innovation environments to support their development, the present uncertainties and the risks assumed by startups in the midst of their challenges in the trajectory of validating a sustainable, repeatable and scalable business model, the success or unsuccessful in its objectives remain ambiguous. This dissertation obtained information on this issue, observing startups that have graduated from the Startup SP SEBRAE program through interviews, content analysis and analysis by the diamond & square framework proposed by the Harvard Business School. The results show that most startups went through some innovation environment or acceleration program, in addition to the Startup SP SEBRAE program, suggesting that using the resources available in the ecosystem mitigates their risks of (dis)continuity, among other results. These findings suggest that it is possible for a startup to manage uncertainties, mitigating the risks assumed, while enhancing its success, using what is already known in the ecosystem.
