A empresa é uma entidade que se relaciona com vários agentes, os quais podem influenciá-la e serem influenciados por ela. Tais agentes são os stakeholders. Dentre estes múltiplos relacionamentos, a administração deve preservar a empresa. Esta é feita por meio do equilíbrio no atendimento da demanda de todos os stakeholders, os quais concorrem entre si pelos recursos corporativos, que são limitados. Estas relações podem ser monitoradas por meio de vários indicadores. O objetivo desta tese foi mapear a importância dos agentes que se relacionam com as empresas. As conclusões são válidas para um grupo de executivos financeiros, e é possível compor a forma de pensamento desta amostra para definir a importância destes stakeholders para as empresas em que atuam. Adicionalmente, foi possível a formação de um arcabouço conceituai para estabelecer um conjunto de indicadores de desempenho baseados nos relacionamentos que a empresa mantém. Sob a ótica dos atributos que determinam a importância dos stakeholders, preconizados pela Teoria dos Stakeholders, os resultados mostram que a urgência no atendimento de suas demandas, o poder coercivo e a legitimidade organizacional são os atributos mais importantes. Isto faz com que estas características existam entre os que devem ter maior atenção da administração no atendimento das demandas. Não foi possível concluir que um único stakeholder deva ter a supremacia na fruição dos benefícios da empresa, porém linhas de ação para a elaboração de indicadores de desempenho foram formadas e contemplam quatro fatores distintos: stakeholders que influem no processo empresarial, os proprietários, os influenciadores junto ao setor de atuação da empresa e o mercado financeiro.

The company is an entity that relates to various economic agents who are able to influence it and be influenced by it. Such economic agents are the stakeholders. Within this web of multiple relationships, the management must preserve the company. This is done through satisfying the demands of all the stakeholders in an equable way, the stakeholders competing among themselves for corporate resources, which are limited. These relationships can be monitored through various indicators. The purpose of this thesis was to examine the importance of the economic agents who relate with the companies. The conclusions are based on a group of financial executives and it is possible to arrive at a common mindset for this sample in gauging the stakeholders level of importance to the companies in which the sample members work. Additionally, it was possible to produce a conceptual framework to arrive at a series of performance indicators based on the companys relationships. From the point of view of the attributes, which determine the stakeholders importance, according to the precepts of the Theory of Stakeholders, the results show that the urgency in satisfying their demands, the power of coercion and the organizational legitimacy are the most important. This leads to these characteristics being present among those that must be the principal focus of management in satisfying these demands. It was not possible to conclude that any single stakeholder should have supremacy in enjoying the benefits of the company - however lines of action for the preparation of performance indicators were established and comprise four distinct factors: stakeholders who influence the business processes, the owners, the parties with influence in the companys industrial sector, and the financial market.
