Contabilidade

Abstract in English
The role of Accounting has been limited by the failure it has had in establishing its own field of action, thus causing a lack of adequate information for Management. Accounting, Administration and Economics are too intertwined to admit a complete division of functions. In this way, it needs to assume the responsibilities of also providing information regarding not only the past, but the present and the future. The current cost represents, today, the best formula for solving the problem of data with meaning in the present. And economic value represents the best solution to the problem of data relating to the future. Economically, there is no meaning in the definition of Goodwill unless it is understood as the residue of something difficult or impossible to better identify in practice. The difficulty of individualizing some asset elements, as well as their measurement, leads us to the construction of an accounting report model, presented in this thesis. This model does not represent the ultimate goal of Accounting. Rather, it represents a step that we believe appropriate in time and form for the advancement of Accounting itself. It must be used and presented together with the reports produced by the historical cost. Each user of accounting data is looking for information and we are using this model, seeking to provide conditions so that more and more users can have greater and better satisfaction in meeting their needs.
