Este estudo tem como objetivo principal contribuir conceitual e empiricamente para o entendimento das diferenças individuais presentes na organização, através da confrontação das teorias de Carl Gustav Jung e Erich Fromm. Como o tema das diferenças individuais neste trabalho foi abordado através da Teoria dos Tipos de Jung e das Orientações de Fromm, coletaram-se os dados utilizando-se inventários fundamentados nessas teorias: o "Indicador de Tipos de Myers-Briggs" (MBTI) e o Levantamento de estilos de Comportamento Motivacional (LEMO), respectivamente. Procedeu-se à pesquisa empírica numa organização industrial, tendo sido envolvidas trezentas e cinco pessoas de cargos de nível universitário lotadas nas várias unidades organizacionais. O teste estatístico utilizado para o exame das hipóteses foi o teste do qui-quadrado, definindo-se como limite de aceitação da hipótese nula o nível de significância de 0,05. A pesquisa corroborou as elaborações teóricas sobre as dependências entre os conceitos de Jung e de Fromm, pois verificaram-se associações entre os Tipos Psicológicos e os Estilos de Comportamento. A verificação empírica possibilitou o estabelecimento de correspondências entre as duas caracterologias, reservando destaque especial para as dependências encontradas entre os diferentes tipos psicológicos e os estilos de comportamento menos expressos pelo sujeito.

The main objective of this study is to contribute both conceptual and empirically, to the understanding of the existing individual differences in the organization by the Carl Gustav Jungs and Erich Fromm theories confrontation. Since the theories which supported this study were the Jung's Psychological Types Theory and the Fromms Orientation Theory, the data were collected by inventories which were sustained by those theories. such as: Myers-Briggs Type Indicator- MBIT and "Levantamento de Estilos de Comportamento Motivacional - LEMO" (e.g., Survey on Motivational Behavior Styles"), respectively. The research was carried out in an industrial organization and involved three hundred and five persons, who have got college degree and have been working for different departments in the company. It was made use of the Chi-square test as an statistical instrument of evaluation for the hypothesis examination. The level of significance considered was 0.05. The research confirmed theoretical elaborations on dependences between Jung's and Fromm concepts, since were proved associations between psychological types and behavior styles. The empirical checking made it possible the two different typologies correlation settlement. and made specially prominent the dependences found between different psychological types and the less expressed behavior styles.
