In the last few decades, the dual career phenomenon has been widely explored in several aspects of the literature. What remained untouched, at least until recently, was the socio-cultural context that involved the experiences of dual career families. Based on the conceptual model proposed and expanded by Berlato (2018), the socio-cultural dimension figured as the basis for understanding the complex network of meanings that permeates the dual career. In this sense, this research sought to explore this dimension based on the phenomenon of religion. The objective of the research was to understand the management of work and family spheres for dual career evangelical couples. Ten couples were interviewed individually and jointly, totaling thirty interviews. The discourse analysis of the interviews made it possible to identify three categories. In the first category, entitled "Religion institutes the sacred reality", the reports revealed the family is understanding as God's creation. Among the issues that stand out in this category, the most conflicting is the understanding of women as submissive in the family relationship. Couples support the break with the view that a woman must blindly obey her spouse. However, at the same time that the woman is positioned next to the spouse, couples still recognize that the man is the main authority in the family. The man is the "head" of the house, possessing a spiritual authority and responsible for leading and protecting the family. In this first category, the following subcategories emerged: the family as a divine institution, the bible as a central element for evangelical couples, the escape from worldly reality, the evangelical as an example, the submissive woman - a conflictual issue, religion as the lens of the world, the connection with God, the evangelical is discriminated against, a religion without signs, and an example for children. The second category sought to highlight the aspects that permeate the family sphere of evangelical couples. Titled as "The centrality of the family for evangelical couples", this category revealed that the family is of greater importance than work. In this repertoire, couples recognize the social roles of men and women. The man is seen as a leader, protector, more rational and rigid with his children, responsible for the support and the reference figure in the family. The woman, on the other hand, represents the emotional side and dedicated to raising children. Although it is not a view shared by all couples interviewed, it is prevalent. Regarding the division of domestic tasks, both spouses collaborate with the demands of the home. Some men perpetuate the idea that the woman is primarily responsible for the home. As for the care of children, the speeches show a much greater sharing between the spouses. What is observed is that the discourse around social roles at certain times is different from the experiences of these couples. The speeches highlight how the interlocution between work and family is significant for couples who experience dual career, since it is after marriage that the look at career trajectories is no longer seen only under the individual's focus and begins to be viewed from the family perspective. In the second category, the subcategories emerged: the meaning of family, the Christian family model, the crystallization of social roles based on religion, the evangelical couple and their involvement in religious activities, the organization of domestic tasks, the vision of equality in raising children, the family as a producer of conflicts, and marriage changes everything. In the third category, called "How my work is meant through family and religion", couples talk about their career paths. By consolidating religion and the family as strongly significant institutions for individuals, work here is understood as what makes it possible to meet the needs of the family. With regard to income, there is still an idea that men should earn more than women because they are responsible for supporting the family. Work is also seen at times as a producer of conflicts for the family, at times as a producer of benefits. In this third category, the following subcategories emerged: the meaning of work for evangelical couples, marriage as a guide to the professional trajectory, study as an important element in the career, who should earn more?, the influences of religion on work, work as producer of conflicts, is there equality between men and women at work?, the value of the family for organizations, dialogue and decision-making for evangelical couples, work as a producer of benefits for the family, and work or career? From this research, it was highlighted that the socio-cultural dimension is significant for the understanding of the dual career relationship and it should not be ignored by organizations, especially when considering that evangelical couples do not put work ahead of the family and represent a profile in rise in the country.
