Abstract in English
The use of the trickle irrigation is growing in Brazil, in consequence of the shortage of waters resources and the need to save irrigation water. This has been requesting knowledge application to development of equipments to optimize the trickle irrigation systems. Trickle irrigations systems always require filtration systems for a basic water treatment. The filters are fundamental for the water quality used in irrigated farming, providing better performance of irrigation systems and theirs components. It considered for this research the filtration system that is fundamental in project of trickle irrigation. The emitters have holes of reduced dimensions and they would be obstructed with the use of water without appropriate filtration. The trials were carried out in the Irrigation Laboratory of the Biosystems Engineering Department of the ESALQ/USP, Piracicaba SP. The experiment had two stages: the first, it was made the hydraulic characterization of the head loss equations according to the free flow in discs filter 1 inch mesh 120 and 155, using clean water and this head loss equations two flow was defined to accomplish the filtrations rehearsals:(a) ideal flow, is that recommended by the manufacturer,(b) half of the ideal flow. In the second way using the head loss equations according to the flow, the acting of the filtration process was analyzed according to the time (240 minutes), using clay and silts concentrations in the proportions of 1,0; 1,5 and 2,0 g L-1 diluted in water, keeping constant flow during the filtrations process. In this second stage it was evaluated the filtration process, percentage of retained material, head loss and the amount of retained material. Considering the obtained results, it follows that: the filter of mesh 155 was superior than to the filter of mesh 120 to remove of solids of water, the evolution of the head loss in the filters of mesh 155 was faster than the filters of mesh 120 due to the largest accumulation of the solid material in its surface, direct consequence of the holes diameter of the filtration element.
