O excesso de fungicidas pode causar muitos problemas à saúde humana. Portanto, são necessárias medidas para a degradação de resíduos desses fungicidas. No presente estudo, a eficiência da radiação gama (0,5, 1,0, 1,5, 2,0 e 4,0 kGy) na decomposição dos níveis de carbendazim e azoxistrobina em morangos foi monitorada. Amostras de morango irradiadas foram submetidas à extração e quantificação de fungicidas usando o protocolo QuEChERS. A quantificação de carbendazim e azoxistrobina foi realizada por meio de cromatografia líquida de alta eficiência. As doses de radiação de 1,5, 2,0 e 4,0 kGy degradaram 13,17; 15,95 e 27,99% do carbendazim e 25,53; 32,32 e 56,70% da azoxistrobina, respectivamente. A determinação da dose de radiação necessária para diminuir os fungicidas em 50% (RD50) revelou que o carbendazim foi mais resistente do que a azoxistrobina à radiação gama.

Excess fungicides can trigger many human health problems. Hence, measures for the degradation of fungicide residues are needed. In the present study, the efficiency of gamma radiation (0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, and 4.0 kGy) in the decomposition of carbendazim and azoxystrobin levels in strawberries was monitored. Irradiated strawberry samples were subjected to extraction and quantification using the QuEChERS protocol. Quantification of carbendazim and azoxystrobin was performed using high-performance liquid chromatography. The radiation doses of 1.5, 2.0, and 4.0 kGy resulted in 13.17, 15.95, and 27.99% of degradation of carbendazim and 25.53, 32.32, and 56.70% of azoxystrobin, respectively. Determination of the radiation dose required to decrease the fungicides by 50% (RD50) revealed that carbendazim was more resistant to gamma radiation than azoxystrobin.
