Abstract in English
Currently, the Unified Health System (SUS) offers, in a complete and free way, 29 procedures of Integrative and Complementary Practices in Health (PICS) to the population. Among them is flower therapy, one of the PICS recognized by the World Health Organization since 1956, which aims to address issues related to emotional well-being and, consequently, body-mind health, meeting the precepts established by SUS. The present work carried out an integrative literature review on the effectiveness of flower therapy. Searches were made in PubMed / MedLine and 44 articles were selected to compose this review. It is a very new field of research, with a predominance of publications in Cuban magazines and Spanish language. More than 60% of the main authors of the research were in the medical field and, probably, this allowed access to hospitals, the main research sites. Most of the journals were in the medical and health fields, with a great diversity of journals, which increases the possibility of submitting research results on PICS and, particularly, floral ones. It was concluded that the scientific production practiced by flower therapy is more focused on proving the effectiveness of the action in the treatment of disease symptoms. The highlight is the chronic non-communicable diseases and those that had more publication were climacteric and stress. The floral system most used in the research was the Bach flower, this may be due to the fact that this system was the precursor in treatment with floral therapy, as well as the origin was described by a doctor, with his reports of initial studies already published. in the academic environment. It is important to note that research was carried out on animals, which shows the concern given the selected methodology to prove the effectiveness of the treatment without the suggestion of the placebo effect, which is often questioned in research with human beings. In this work, the therapeutic intervention with flower essences was identified as a promoter of the rescue of everyday life impacted by illness. Therefore, there is no claim to deny the value of biomedical rationality in the care of serious cases. However, it is possible to think that PICS can significantly help improve this reality, especially in the context of primary health care. Thus, the systematization of the studies carried out, following internationally accepted scientific standards, allowed to present some of the benefits of therapeutic treatment with the flower essences pointed out by the authors. Although most studies have shown favorable results, more studies are needed to serve as a reference for PICS and, as floral therapy is a possibility for health intervention in both SUS and the private sector, it is important to think about training of professionals in floral therapy. Thus, as an educational product of this study, a pedagogical project for a postgraduate course in floral and floral therapy was proposed, aiming at the quality of teaching for which the performance of this professional. It is hoped that the product of this study, aimed at contributing to the training of floral therapists, can be a source for other studies for training with quality and innovation for floral therapists.
