Abstract in English
The growing need for energy has led to an unbridled search for new ways of generation. In Brazil until recently this search seemed to be under control, mainly due to the diversity of its energy matrix, predominantly constituted by hydroelectric and thermoelectric power. Although it presents a very low index of emissions of greenhouse gases, hydroelectric plants have a great social and environmental impact in the regions where they are built. Large areas are flooded, causing irreversible damage to local flora and fauna. Oil, coal and natural gas are threefold disadvantageous fuels, that is, they are non-renewable, highly polluting (natural gas to a lesser degree) and much more expensive. In addition to the emission of harmful gases and causing the greenhouse effect, environmental degradation already begins with its collection, in the withdrawal of this material from nature. All these circumstances point to the fact that more important than finding new solutions to the energy problem, is to find sustainable and long-term solutions that do not harm the environment and its ecosystems and that still bring the possibility of advancement and improvement for the society. The objective of this work was to study and evaluate the analysis of the insertion of a new way of generating sustainable energy in the energy system, which not only does not harm the environment, but also greatly boosts regional social development this is the study of a Solar Tower (thermosolar power plant) within the scope of the clean development of Brazil.
