Abstract in English
This master's research investigates possible approaches for updating and conserving works of art built using technologies that are on the verge of obsolescence. To do so, it takes as a case study the video installations presented by the Brazilian artist Rafael França between 1980 and 1982. Concomitantly, the research also analyzes how the documents related to these installations, all under the custody of USP s Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC/USP) since the artist's death in 1991, could guide a new understanding and exhibition of these works inside the museum.
