Abstract in English
The purpose of this research is to reflect on the training received by educators working in exhibitions. Its starting point is the training of the museum education staff for the "Mostra do Redescobrimento - Brasil + 500", in 2000, focusing on the module Indigenous Art. The Mostra education project was designed to receive an abundance and diversity of public, and developed with educational actions and pedagogical materials aimed at varied audiences. In this scenario, the research introduces the theoretical and methodological guidelines implemented in the "Projeto Monitoria" to train the educators interacting with the public. It then raises points about the role of museums and their current social participation, based on the challenges of museum education, focusing on the training of educational teams and the dialogue between museology and anthropology.
