Abstract in English
The present work aims to investigate the possibilities of educational use of digitalized indigenous-themed collections made publicly available on the internet by museums, especially in the wiki environment. It is understood that these platforms are part of a free information ecology existing on the Internet and that their incorporation into museum educational practices can become important allies in promoting qualified access to museum collections for the public. For this, an exploratory, qualitative and quantitative study was carried out, comparing cases of digitized collections of ethnographic museums published on Wikimedia Commons, thus configuring itself as a case study. The conclusions pointed to the high rate of visualization and reuse of indigenous ethnographic collections, evidencing the enormous potential of these platforms for museum education.
