Esta dissertação apresenta um conjunto de proposições curatoriais para o desenvolvimento de ações de conservação colaborativa. O objetivo principal é indicar caminhos para a elaboração de um projeto sistemático de conservação orientado à preservação do conjunto artefatual cerâmico da coleção Asurini do Xingu formada pela antropóloga Regina Pólo Müller e salvaguardada pelo Museu de Arqueologia e Etnologia da Universidade de São Paulo. Com a proposta apresentada pretende-se também inspirar conservadores e outras instituições a planejarem e desenvolverem atividades de conservação de acervos etnográficos em parceria com os povos indígenas que os originaram. A elaboração das propostas supracitadas passa pela investigação dos contextos histórico-conceituais que conduziram à formação dos acervos etnográficos, seus modos de tratamento e exibição ao longo da história. A partir de uma abordagem sobre os ideais de preservação que, entre o final do século XIX e início do XX, levaram à separação entre os objetos e as sociedades que os produziram, procuramos compreender as mudanças de paradigmas que contribuíram para o desenvolvimento de ações de colaboração. Ao fazermos isso, lançamos nosso olhar sobre diversas experiências colaborativas de conservação realizadas em diferentes partes do mundo nas últimas décadas. O estudo sobre os parâmetros que orientaram o cuidado dispensado aos objetos etnográficos ao longo da história, associado a uma análise de experiências colaborativas concretas, contribuiu para se pensar ações curatoriais de preservação, considerando o protagonismo dos povos indígenas em toda a cadeia de procedimentos de conservação de bens patrimoniais.

This dissertation presents a set of curatorial propositions for the development of collaborative conservation actions. The main objective is to indicate ways for the establishment of a systematic project of conservation oriented to the conservancy of the ceramic artefactual set of the Asurini do Xingu collection formed by the anthropologist Regina Pólo Müller and safeguarded by the Museum of Archeology and Ethnology of the University of São Paulo. With the proposal presented, it is also intended to inspire conservators and other institutions to plan and develop conservation activities for ethnographic collections in partnership with the indigenous peoples that originated them. The establishment of the aforementioned proposals involves the investigation of the historical-conceptual contexts that led to the formation of ethnographic collections, their treatment and exhibition throughout history. Starting from the ideals of preservation which, between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, led to the separation between objects and the societies that produced them, we seek to understand the changes in paradigms that contributed to the development of collaborative actions. In doing so, we cast our gaze on several collaborative conservation experiences carried out around the world in recent decades. The study of the parameters that guided the approach given to ethnographic objects throughout history, associated with an analysis of concrete collaborative experiences, contributed to thinking about curatorial preservation actions, considering the protagonism of indigenous peoples in the entire chain of procedures for the conservation of heritage assets.
