Ao longo da primeira década do século 21, a América Latina testemunhou uma série de resultados eleitorais favoráveis a partidos e governantes identificados como progressistas. Esse fenômeno ficou conhecido como Onda Rosa. O movimento sindical da região, após uma longa fase de retração e resistência no decorrer da década de 1990, aproveitou esse período histórico para se reestruturar e buscar um novo protagonismo no campo das relações políticas, econômicas e sociais. A partir desse cenário e tendo como estratégia de organização a luta pela integração latino-americana, o Encontro Sindical Nossa América (ESNA) surgiu como uma experiência sui generis de organização formada por trabalhadores de diversos países do continente. Esta dissertação se propõe a narrar a história da primeira década de existência (2008-2018) dessa entidade, bem como elaborar uma análise sobre as possibilidades e limitações dos agentes oficiais do ESNA (as organizações sindicais nacionais), em uma perspectiva transnacional.

During the first decade of the 21th Century, Latin America testified a range of elections favorable to parties and governors identified as progressists. That phenomenon became known as pink tide. The trade union movement of the region, after a long stage of shrinkage and resistance in the 1990s, saw in that historical period an opportunity to restructure and reach a new protagonism in the field of social, economic and political relations. From this scenario and having as organization strategy the struggle for Latin American integration, the Trade Union Meeting Our America (ESNA, in Portuguese and Spanish) emerged as a unique experience, constituted by workers from many countries of the continent. This Masters dissertation tries to narrate the story of the first decade of existence of this organization (2008-2018), as long as elaborate an analysis about the possibilities and limitations of the official ESNAs agents (the national trade unions entities), in a transnational perspective.
