Keywords in Portuguese
Centralidade
Identidade
Pertencimento
Sociabilidade
Vida urbana

Abstract in English
The work studied the relations of belonging at Bexiga, in São Paulo (SP), in the second decade of the 21st century, helping to think about sociability, the sense of neighborhood, production of the space, identities and the notions of center and periphery. Based on theoretical research and fieldwork involving interviews with residents, walks and participation in events, the study observed a place with identity layers not always as visible or recognized, the result of a selective tradition that placed an emphasis on Italian memory in detriment to Afro-Brazilian, both constituents of the Neighborhood, as well as in detriment of migrants' memories in the post-urbanization, a place that mobilizes many imaginary, where the street and human relations play a fundamental role. Result of the fragmented and hierarchical formation of São Paulo, Bexiga houses diverse and unequal experiences which suggest places and territorialities. The study also observed permanences over time in the Neighborhood: types of housing, commerce and services, as well as community links, conflicts, negotiations and daily practices
