Abstract in English
The research described in this dissertation had as main goal to identify the ideas and perceptions about the public debate expressed by consumers of fake news on Facebook. The object of the analysis consisted of comments posted by the platform users in response to the publications of two pages already known for spreading disinformation: the official page of the Gospel Prime portal (facebook.com/gospelprime) and that of the Falando Verdades website (facebook.com/Falandoverdades.com.br). Virtual ethnographies were carried out in both online environments, while the comments of internet users were recorded through printscreens. Finally, such material was subjected to a discourse analysis, used to shed light on the representations and beliefs underlying the comments collected. At the end of this undertaking, two distinct concepts of public debate were observed: The followers of Gospel Prime demonstrated that they understood the political-ideological struggle as an expression of the war between heaven and hell - with conservatives defending the christian virtues and the word of God, while the "leftists" would compose a conspiratorial faction servant of antichrist. The followers of Falando Verdades, in turn, understood the public debate as a lost conflict, given the defeat of progressivism in 2018 and the subsequent rise of conservatists considered inepts, unintelligents and obscurantists
