Sensualidade

Abstract in English
The present study consisted of analyzing the visual construction of female sensuality, based on the concept of Ninfa, taking as empirical material the covers of the Brazilian Playboy magazine published between 1982 and 2010. As a theoretical tool, we used the concepts of nymph, survival and pathosformel, based on the studies of Aby Warburg, which inspired Georges Didi-Huberman, Giorgio Agamben, Bogdana Paskaleva and Daniela Queiroz Campos. After analyzing the 505 Playboy covers, we selected 18 of them, through which we highlight the surviving elements of Ninfa, such as sublime beauty, joviality and the power of fascination, that make up the erotic and sensual corporeity of the women stamped on those covers. We also observe elements of the Ninfa that are reconfigured in contemporary times. We understand that Ninfa's Pathosformel is constituted both by surviving fragments, such as joviality, and by new elements that emerge in contemporaneity, such as the tattoo, that, when embodied in the image of the female figure, are responsible for provoking desire
