Esta pesquisa acadêmica teve como objetivo apontar substanciais críticas atribuídas ao movimento cultural funk, especificamente alguns de seus subgêneros musicais e controversos episódios associados, relacionando-as com as questões socioculturais de sua década ou momento histórico em que esteja inserido a fim de demonstrar estes referidos questionamentos enquanto reproduções de vários fenômenos da nossa sociedade contemporânea. Para tanto, partiu-se da abordagem metodológica qualitativa, valendo-se de procedimento de pesquisa bibliográfica histórica, abordando temas como: a observação de novas fontes históricas, especialmente as obras artísticas, para a descoberta e o esclarecimento das questões socioculturais de indivíduos e grupos sociais até então excluídos das pesquisas históricas anteriores; estudo acerca das funções sociais da Arte e da Música, estas objetivando reproduzir o cenário cultural, social, político, econômico e tecnológico da sociedade circundante à obra artística observada; os Estudos Culturais; a música popular em um contexto histórico-cultural e, ao final desta, uma pesquisa histórica acerca das três primeiras décadas do funk (1990, 2000 e 2010) apontando alguns fatos e dados que demonstram a sua relação de espelhamento às diversas questões socioculturais existentes no momento histórico correspondente. Com isso, constatou-se que os indicados subgêneros musicais do funk e os episódios circundantes são resultados de fenômenos culturais peculiares à década e ao momento histórico-cultural que fora originado, assim modificando-se e adaptando-se a cada um destes momentos

This study aimed to point out substantial criticism regarding the funk cultural movement, specifically some of its musical subgenres and controversial episodes, linking them to sociocultural issues of its decade or the historical environment in which it is engaged to demonstrate these referred questions as reproductions of various phenomena in our contemporary society. To do so, a qualitative methodological approach was carried out, throughout historical bibliographic research covering an observation of new historical sources, especially artistic works, search and analysis of individuals sociocultural issues and social groups previously excluded from historical researches; investigation of the social functions of Art and Music, aiming to reproduce the cultural, social, political, economic and technological scenario of the society which surrounds the artistic work; the Cultural Studies; a historical context of the popular music and, towards the end, a historical research about the first three decades of funk (1990, 2000 and 2010) pointing out some facts and data that demonstrate its mirroring approach to the various sociocultural aspects in the corresponding historical moment. As consequence, it was concluded that funk musical subgenres and its related episodes are results of a peculiar cultural phenomenon regarding the decade in which was originated and to its historical-cultural moment, thus being itself modified and adapted to each of these moments
