O presente trabalho apresenta relato autobiográfico da experiência do pesquisador quando atuou como profissional responsável por uma equipe de saúde voltada para atendimento de população idosa em duas unidades básicas de saúde no município de São Paulo. Relata a experiência desenvolvida através da educação não formal em programa de saúde pública voltado ao envelhecimento populacional, suas repercussões na saúde e formas de atuação para desenvolvimento dos profissionais do programa. Aborda os processos formativos realizados na preparação e continuidade do trabalho desenvolvido por profissionais, acompanhantes de idosos, responsáveis pelo atendimento do público-alvo. Através do resgate de memória, materiais fotográficos e documental, faz registro dos processos educacionais que ocorreram durante dois momentos, com equipes diferentes nas quais ocorreram formas distintas de proporcionar conhecimento para desempenho da atividade. Os objetivos deste trabalho são, além de trazer as questões do envelhecimento, resgatar os processos educacionais vivenciados no cotidiano e as mudanças pessoais para os profissionais que participam e participaram deste processo

This paper presents an autobiographical account of the researcher's experience when he acted as a professional responsible for a health team focused on the care of the elderly population in two basic health units in the city of São Paulo. It reports the experience developed through Non-Formal Education in a Public Health program focused on population aging, its repercussions on health and ways of acting for the development of program professionals. It addresses the training processes carried out in the preparation and continuity of the work developed by professionals, accompanying the elderly, responsible for attending the target audience. Through the rescue of memory, photographic and documentary materials, it records the educational processes that occurred for two moments, with different teams where there were different ways of providing knowledge for the performance of the activity. The idea and purpose of this work is to bring beyond the issues of aging, rescue the educational processes experienced in daily life and personal changes for professionals who participate and participated in this process
