Abstract in English
This study addresses the social reality of the workforce in the textile and fashion industry, in which workers, as opposed to the dominant mode of production, organize themselves in a self-managed manner, with a view to generating work and income with autonomy and development, overcoming thereby the adversities related to the phenomenon of exploitation and exclusion, a general process known as solidarity economy. Thus, we propose to study and analyze this production model and the reality of these solidarity enterprises in the textile and fashion industry, according to the literature review and field observation. Based on our results and analysis, the present study aims to demonstrate the relevance of the solidarity organization for the economic, social and sustainable development in the textile and fashion industry, amidst the critical Brazilian social context
