A estrutura patriarcal da sociedade russa pré-revolucionária impôs um rígido código moral e de conduta expressos na indumentária feminina utilizada até meados do século XX. Elementos de opressão de gênero aparecem em rituais, ditados populares, cantigas e também em determinadas peças de roupa que, além configurarem um complexo código de comunicação, também indicam o papel da mulher naquela sociedade. O objetivo do presente estudo é a identificação de indícios da opressão de gênero na indumentária feminina russa exercida pela sociedade patriarcal antes e durante as Revoluções Russas. Partindo-se do ponto de vista sociocultural, a pesquisa qualitativa de modalidade histórica busca a identificação de tais elementos na indumentária e cultura russas traçando um paralelo com a ativa participação feminina neste evento histórico, dimensionando a importância do pensamento revolucionário e sua contribuição ao debate feminista contemporâneo

The patriarchal structure of the prerevolutionary Russian society imposed a rigid moral and conduct code expressed on the womens clothing until the beginning of the 20th century. Gender oppression elements appear in rituals, popular saying, songs and also in determined clothing parts that, besides to set up a complex communication code, also indicate social womans role. The objective of the present study is the identification of gender oppression clues on the Russian womens clothing exerted for the patriarchal society before and during the Russian Revolutions. Assuming the sociocultural point of view, the qualitative research of historical modality seeks the identification of such elements on the Russian dress and culture in parallel with the active feminine participation on this historical event, dimensioning the importance of the revolutionary thought and its contribution to the contemporary feminist debate
