Abstract in English
This research consists in understanding, from a selected bibliographic review, the relation between fashion, body and image in the construction of the identity of the figure of Marie-Antoinette. The investigation is based on qualitative research from bibliographic sources of the main interpretations on the themes. Theories by authors such as Giles Lipovetsky, Lars Svendsen and Georg Simmel allowed the analysis of the fashion system as something multiple. It is possible to observe the functioning of fashion as a collective and an individual phenomenon that helps in the construction of the subjects identities, by offering symbolic possibilities of representations. The concept of the body as image support, proposed by Hans Belting, allows the approximation and the relation between fashion, body and Image. Theoretical and critical reflection on the themes makes it possible to analyze the figure of Marie-Antoinette, the last queen of France, who used clothing as her main political, power and survival instrument in the court of Versailles. The concepts of the double, proposed by Regis Debray, and the concepts of memory are fundamental parts of the research, which make it possible to verify the influence that the figure of Marie-Antoinette still has on advertising and in the various spheres of fashion. It is, therefore, about understanding the dimension that the meaning of clothing has to shape identities through expressions and memories that the clothes keep
