Abstract in English
The textile industry evolution as well as the growing demand that, year after year, increases exponentially, generates more waste that sometimes becomes unemployable, contributing solely and exclusively to the increase of pollutants in the environment in addition to being, by the way, an economic waste. In parallel with these factors, civil construction needs for new technologies that allow greater agility in the work execution, assign greater lightness, reduce maintenance, reduce costs, add value to the final consumer and enable maneuvers that generate architectural differentiation. Combining the textile industry residual supply and the demand of civil construction, we carried out a study on pultruded profiles (FRP - Fiber Reinforced Polymer) as an option for the use of this waste and possible applicability in the construction works. These are structural profiles that are immune to corrosion have low weight are not electrically conductive or fire-propagating, have great mechanical strength and are excellent substitutes for traditional steel, iron, wooden or aluminum rebar
