Avaliação posturográfica e radiográfica de cães portadores de displasia coxofemoral

Abstract in English
Hip dysplasia is a multifactorial disease that affects dogs, with great variability according to age and breed, making it an important disease, as it causes changes in both locomotion and posture of the animal. The objective of this work was to evaluate the distribution of strength in the limbs of dysplastic dogs, considering the degree of dysplasia, evaluated from radiographic studies, through the Posturography method. Dogs older than 2 years with some degree of hip dysplasia participated in this study, being distributed into 3 groups according to their classification of radiographic changes, namely, group 1 (mild dysplasia), group 2 (moderate dysplasia) and group 3 (mild dysplasia). serious). It was possible to demonstrate the importance of a detailed evaluation even in those animals that do not present alterations in locomotion, because, regardless of the apparent presence of movement disorders, there may be alterations in weight deposition, which will lead to joint overload in other limbs, secondary to the compensatory effect.
