Abstract in English
The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of the inclusion of yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) on the performance and intestinal health of weaned piglets during 42 days of nursery. Were used 1440 hybrid piglets (Topigs x Agroceres PIC) (720 males and 720 females) were distributed in 4 treatments (0, 5%,10% and 20% of hydrolysed yeast inclusion in the diet), with eight replications of 45 animals, totaling 32 stalls, each stall being considered an experimental unit. The piglets were distributed in a randomized block design, using the weight of the piglets as criteria for block formation, according to the treatments. The parameters evaluated during the experimental period were feed intake (FI), weight gain (WG), feed conversion (FC) and incidence of diarrhea (during the first 16 days). Results were considered statistically significant at P<0.05. There was no statistical difference between treatments regarding performance variables (P> 0.05). Regarding the incidence of diarrhea scores there was no statistically significant result (P> 0.05).
