O objetivo desta tese de Livre‐Docência é descrever a construção de uma perspectiva teórico­‐metodológica de análise do funcionamento psicológico do ser humano, tendo como referência a Teoria dos Modelos Organizadores do Pensamento, e como base uma série de investigações desenvolvidas entre os anos de 1996 e 2012. Partindo de algumas bases teóricas do pensamento de Jean Piaget, no primeiro capítulo, são apresentadas as origens e os pressupostos da Teoria dos Modelos Organizadores do Pensamento e o princípio de que o ser humano constrói modelos da realidade, por meio dos quais é capaz de orientar seu raciocínio e suas ações, bem como conhecer o mundo ao seu redor. O segundo capítulo descreve com detalhes o processo evolutivo teórico-metodológico aplicado a identificação dos modelos organizadores do pensamento em seis pesquisas, divididas em três fases distintas, durante 16 anos de investigações desenvolvidas pela autora da tese e seus alunos de pós-­‐graduação. A apresentação das pesquisas centrou-­se em duas linhas complementares de análise e discussão: (a) uma linha teórico­‐metodológico, representada pelas discussões sobre como a teoria dos Modelos Organizadores do Pensamento foi se desenvolvendo no transcorrer dos anos, dando suporte a um importante instrumento de pesquisa que permite análises dinâmicas do funcionamento psicológico humano; (b) uma linha de reflexão sobre o papel que sentimentos e emoções exercem nos juízos e ações de conteúdo de natureza moral. Em ambas as linhas de análise, a essência do trabalho consistiu em desvendar como o pensar, o sentir e o agir são ações que fazem parte de um continuum no funcionamento psíquico do ser humano. No terceiro e último capítulo, discutem‐se algumas implicações educacionais a partir dos resultados das seis investigações apresentadas no segundo capítulo.

The aim of this thesis is to describe the construction of a theoretical-­‐ methodological perspective of analysis of the psychological functioning of the human being, having the Theory of Organizing Models of Thought as a reference, and a series of investigations carried out between the years 1996 and 2012 as its basis. Based on some of the theoretical approaches of Jean Piaget, the first chapter presents the origins and the Theory of Organizing Models of Thought and its principle that human beings construct models of reality and it is through them that is able to guide their reasoning, actions and knowledge about the world. The second chapter describes in detail the evolution of the theoretical-­‐methodological process used in identifying the organizing models of thought in six studies, divided into three distinct phases, during 16 years of research conducted by the author of the thesis and her graduate students. The presentation of the researches has focused on two complementary lines of analysis and discussion: (a) a theoretical-­‐methodological line, represented by discussions on how the theory of Organizing Models of Thought has been developed over the course of years, supporting an important instrument of research that enables dynamic analyzes of human psychological functioning; (b) a line of reflection on the role that feelings and emotions play in judgments and actions of moral content. In both lines of analysis, the essence of the work was to find out how thinking, feeling and acting are actions that are part of a continuum in the human psyche functioning. In the third and final chapter some educational implications are discussed from the results of six investigations presented in the second chapter.
