Chamas".
Discutimos a montagem e a evolução do aparato experimental visando a obtenção
(mapas de retorno) Tn+l xTn. Identificamos atratores periódicos, quase periódicos;

Abstract in English
We present the construction of the "Laboratory of Non-Linear Phenomena",
the main results obtained with the "The Leaky faucet Experiment", and the proposal
o f the new experiments, "Formation of bubble in liquids", and "Oscillations
in Flames".
We discuss the assembling and the evolution of the experimental apparatus
in order to obtain the data with the best quality. We check that the system is
very sensible to many noise sources and instabilities, as the mechanical vibrations,
control of the water level (parameter of control), and the oscillations of the falling
drops.
A characteristic of the "Leaky faucet experiment " is the natural discrete form
of the output signal; we measure the time (Tn) between two successive events
( drops). The different types o f behavior found in chaotic systems were characterized
by the reconstruction of the phase spaces (return maps) Tn+l x Tn. We
identified periodic and quasi-periodic attractors; bifurcations (flip, transcritical
and Hopf); intermittencies (between odd periods and chaos; and between two
even periods); crisis (boundary and interior); coexistence of attractors; scaling
law and chaotic attractors. For low drop rates, we studied the evolution of the
water column in the nipple faucet, by recording the water column with a vídeo
camera . We showed that the drop formation is given initially by a quasi linear
( elastic) dynamics followed by a non-linear (plastic) movement. In the experiment "Formation ofbubble in liquids", that is still in development, we observed some periodic movements as well as some bifurcations as a function o f the air pressure (parameter of control).
