Keywords in Portuguese
Espalhamento
Title in English
Intermediate mechanism for isobaric anomalies in the elastic scattering of protons
Keywords in English
Scattering
Abstract in English
The mechanism responsible for isobaric anomalies in elastic scattering of protons is examined from the standpoint of a general formalism that includes a description of input states as a particular limit. The examination of the fine structure of these defects leads to a distinct mechanism that limits: the dissolution state analog responsible for the anomaly appears to be due mainly to a coupling state of the virtual compound nucleus via the input channel. The possible relevance of this mechanism in other cases is discussed briefly.
