Abstract in English
This descriptive-exploratory research aims at analysing the corporate travel market expressed by Travel Management Companies (TMC), Network Support Organizations (NSO) and Business Cooperation Networks (BCN). In this context, it is important highlighting the Brazilian Association of Corporate Travel Agencies (ABRACORP) for being an entity that comprises several Brazilian TMC. The objective of this study was to comprehend the relationships of TMC as a whole and, in the Brazilian case, to evaluate the position of the national TMC in the global market of national corporate travel. To achieve these goals, it was carried out a deep analysis of the characteristics and types of NSO that operate in this market. The organizational communication of TMC, NSO and BCN, displayed on their websites, supported the analyses for the contextualization of the business of these companies and the understanding of their interrelationships. From ABRACORP, a list of 30 TMC was elaborated – here defined as the universe of the research, which enabled the completion of this study. The results point to a dynamic corporate travel market, which has been transformed since the middle of the 20th century. In addition, this market seeks other business opportunities through innovative actions and links with BCN. In the case of the Brazilian market, it was verified that the country is adapting to global trends and that there are cooperation models that may or may not meet the needs of travel agencies in Brazil.
