Abstract in English
This thesis discusses the relationship between contemporary architecture and the process of globalization, defined as being essentially the integration of national markets into an immense world economy, opening a new and promising field for professional practice. Focusing on the specific case of China, a country in which have developed an intense design activity in the various scales of architecture and urbanism (that includes urban design, landscape architecture, building design, lighting design, visual communication design and urban furniture design), the thesis presents the difficulties and successes achieved during three years of continuous international cooperation,, in view of this , it is believed that the main hypothesis of the thesis was proved, i.e. that "globalization represents a fertile territory for a class of Brazilian professionals whose knowledge and interest in participating in the global market allow to believe in a wider presence of national architecture in the world scenario, helping the country in its export agenda".
