Nas últimas décadas tem-se observado grande preocupação com a sustentabilidade, sobretudo nas empresas, onde o conceito de desenvolvimento sustentável não é mais uma tendência, mas uma realidade. No setor de logística não é diferente. Dentre os campos de estudo contidos em Administração e Negócios, a logística é a responsável pela movimentação de bens e de pessoas. Essas movimentações são realizadas por transporte rodoviário, ferroviário, fluvial, aéreo e em alguns casos por dutos subterrâneos. O modal rodoviário é amplamente o mais utilizado, trazendo alguns problemas, sobretudo em grandes centros urbanos, onde a crescente utilização de combustíveis fósseis, com altas emissões de CO2 na atmosfera, tem contribuído para o aumento da poluição, congestionamentos, podendo contribuir para alterações climáticas, dentre outros fatores. Diante disso, trata-se atualmente de um grande desafio a transição para modelos logísticos mais sustentáveis. Nesse sentido, destaca-se a logística verde, que defende propostas para a melhor utilização dos recursos de maneira mais sustentável, como por exemplo, o balanceamento entre os modais logísticos com redução do transporte rodoviário e aumento em outros modais, com destaque para ferroviário e fluvial. O modal logístico fluvial, nesse contexto se destaca, pois se trata do meio de transporte mais sustentável, além de ser também o de menor custo. Com base nesta informação, este estudo tem como objetivo identificar e analisar os principais desafios e oportunidades relacionados à logística fluvial no Brasil e posteriormente propor uma agenda de ações. Utilizando inicialmente uma ampla revisão sistemática de literatura, foi possível analisar o status da pesquisa na área e contemplar uma agenda para futuras pesquisas, permitindo um direcionamento para outros trabalhos que possam ser desenvolvidos sobre a mesma temática. Em seguida utilizou-se uma abordagem sistêmica por meio de entrevistas semiestruturadas com gestores que atuam no contexto da logística fluvial brasileira. Como resultado, foi possível relacionar, sob cada ótica, os principais desafios e oportunidades relacionados à logística fluvial no Brasil e propor um plano de ação para seu desenvolvimento

In the last decades, there has been great concern about sustainability, especially in companies, where the concept of sustainable development is no longer a trend, but a reality. In the logistics field it is no different. Among the fields of study contained in Administration and Business, logistics is responsible for the movement of goods and people. These movements are carried out by road, rail, inland waterway, and in some cases by underground pipelines. The road system is widely used, bringing some problems, especially in large urban centers, where the increasing use of fossil fuels with high CO2 emissions in the atmosphere has contributed to increased pollution, congestion and can contribute to climate change, among other factors. Given this, the transition to more sustainable logistic models is a major challenge today. In this sense, the green logistics stand out, because advocates proposals for a better use of resources in a more sustainable way, such as balancing logistics modals with reduction of road transport and increase in others, especially rail and waterway. The inland waterway modal, in this context stands out, because it is the most sustainable means of transport, besides being also the least cost. Based on this information, this study aims to identify and analyze the main challenges and opportunities related to inland waterway logistics in Brazil and subsequently propose an agenda of actions. Using initially a large systematic literature review, it was possible to analyze the research status in the field and to contemplate an agenda for future research, allowing a guide to other works on the same theme that can be developed. Then, a systemic approach was used through semi-structured interviews with managers who work in the waterway logistics field in Brazil. As a result, it was possible to relate under each perspective the main challenges and opportunities related to waterway logistics and to propose a conceptual model of action
