Title in Portuguese
Gueto de Varsóvia: Imagem Narrativa em Jakobson
Keywords in Portuguese
Fotografia
Imagem narrativa
Varsóvia
Title in English
Warsaw Ghetto: Narrative Image in Jakobson
Keywords in English
Narrative image
Photography
Warsow
Abstract in English
Being read, an image is a text represented iconographically as an entirety, for it has no semantic gradations. The time of the narration necessarily coincides with the very time of the reading; the reader participates by completing and intepreting each storyline. The image being considered as a narrative, as a story, the semiotics, as the element of language analysis, becomes relevant, helping a more complete understanding of the significations of the photopraphy, based on Roman Jakobson´s linguistic method, built upon the six functions of the language, and using photographs of the Warsowian Ghetto as examples.
