Essa dissertação analisa a linguagem jornalística do Jornal Nacional em relação ao temas ambiente e ecologia. O objetivo do trabalho é, sobretudo, desvendar as estratégias de produção de sentido do telejornal e ver como ele soluciona a transversalidade dos temas pesquisados, considerando que existe uma multiplicidade de fatores importantes nem sempre revelados na notícia. A base para a pesquisa foi constituída dentro de um período de três meses consecutivos de exibição do JN, quando as matérias foram selecionadas por palavras-chave que remetem aos temas da dissertação. Durante o período da pesquisa foram surgindo as linhas diretrizes que apontavam para a importância de uma maior atenção na análise de conteúdo dos textos pois é pelo discurso que se formam os sentidos. Quantificamos o tempo dedicado às matérias sobre ecologia e ambiente e estabelecemos uma relação percentual com o tempo total do JN. Ao tabular as matérias por palavras-chave pudemos observar a formação de diretrizes que apontavam para a preponderância de determinados temas como biocombustíveis e aquecimento global. Procedemos então à leitura dos textos que se enquadravam dentro deste grupo, abrindo um diálogo que buscasse ver se a reportagem oferecia integridade na sua apresentação ou se optava por uma linha apenas superficial e simplista.

This dissertation analyses the journalistic language of Jornal Nacional in relation to the environment and ecology themes. The objective of this work is, above all, to reveal the strategies in sense production in this newscast and see how it deals with the transversality of the researched themes, considering that there are multiple important factors not always revealed in the news. The base for the research was done within a three consecutive months period of the JN where the stories were selected by keywords that refer to the dissertation´s theme. During the research period, the guidelines that emerged were pointing to the importance of a higher attention in the content analysis considering that it sense production is done by the speech. We quantified the time lenght dedicated to ecological and environmental news and established a percentage relationship to the total time of JN. As we organized the stories by keywords, we realised that certain themes appeared more frequently such as: biofuels and global warming. We then proceeded to reading the copies that were within this group opening a dialogue that aimed at checking if the newstory offered integrity in its presentaion or if it opted for a superficial and simplistic line only.
