Objetivo: Adaptar culturalmente e validar a escala Social and Community Opportunities Profile (SCOPE) para o contexto brasileiro.

Background: Brazilian psychiatric reform has raised questions about the social exclusion of people with mental health issues and has fostered the creation of a National Mental Health Policy, whose purpose is the social inclusion of people with mental health issues. To achieve this goal, community mental health services were created with multidisciplinary teams capable of promoting social inclusion. However, there were no instruments in Brazil that measured the results of these actions. In this scenario, the author realized that there was a need to have validated and reliable instruments to evaluate social inclusion actions to contribute quality community services to people with mental health issues. Objective: To culturally adapt and validate the Social and Community Opportunities Profile (SCOPE) for the Brazilian context. Method: Methodological study simple random sample without replacement composed of 225 people with mental disorders attended at 29 Psychosocial Care Centres (CAPS), which are community and territorial services, whose collection occurred from December 2016 to April 2017. This sample was divided into two sub-samples (Sample A = 110 and Sample B = 115) for the psychometric analyzes, in order to guarantee at least five patients for each SCOPE-B item in the construct analyzes. The data source for the data collection was the Brazilian version of the Social and Communities Oportunities Profile (SCOPE-B), after cultural adaptation, which composes 48 self-applicable questions, of which 17 refer to the scale of social inclusion and 31 questions of characterization of the user profile. Cultural adaptation was done according to the protocol of Dorcas Beaton and colleagues. For content validation, the CVI calculation was used and for the analysis of the data collected with the SCOPE-B, descriptive statistics were used to characterize the profile of the participants. Factorial, exploratory (AFE) and confirmatory (AFC) analyzes were performed for the construct validity. The Cronbach's alpha was used to calculate the internal consistency. The analyzes were performed using IBM-SPSS and IBM-SPSS-AMOS software versions 22.0 and 21.0, respectively. Results: A total of 225 patients were female (52%), white (52.9%), had completed high school (31%), unemployed (34.2%), with a mean age of 44 , 57 and SD ± 11,428, with no chronic disease (55.1%), with income until 1 minimum wage (52%), being the most common source of income benefits of the State (33.3%). The process of cultural adaptation had a committee of specialists consisting of 12 judges and obtained IVCt = 0.97 of agreement on the content of the SCOPE-B scale. The mean of the total scale score was 60.62 and SD ± 10.677, maximum of 89 points and a minimum of 37 points. According to SCOPE-B, the participants presented low to medium social inclusion indices. After the AFE and AFC, the scale was composed of 17 items, divided into two subscales: Satisfaction subscale (12 items) with three domains: Social (items 03,08,11,27,31,40,43 and 44), Work (items 18 and 24) and Health (36 and 37) and = 0.756; Subscale Opportunities Perceived, unifatorial (items 05, 10, 14, 21 and 30) and = 0.626. The AFC adjustment indexes for the new subscale model for social inclusion satisfaction (12 items) were 2= 57000, df= 48 (p <.001), CFI= 0.967, TLI= 0.954, RMSEA= 0.040 and NFI= 0.830 and for subscale perceived social inclusion opportunities (05 items), were 2=5819, df= 5 (p <.001), CFI= 0.990, TLI= 0.979, RMSEA= 0.038 and NFI = 0.926 were classified as very good. Conclusion: SCOPE-B, composed of 17 items distributed in two subscales - Satisfaction (12 items and three domains) and Perceived Opportunities (05 items and one domain), as well as 31 questions characterizing people with mental disorders - was shown an instrument with good evidence of validity and accuracy to measure the social inclusion of users of community mental health services served in the city of São Paulo. However, the factor structure found is still subject to improvements for the excellent fit of the model.
