Abstract in English
Diabetes Mellitus is a metabolic disease associated with cronic hyperglycemia, vascular and neurologic lesions and delayed union in healing processes. This study addresses the effect of low intensity ultrasound in the bone healing of experimental fibulae osteotomies in Alloxan diabetic rats. The effect evaluated by radiology and histopatology shows an acceleration of bone repair in the ultrasound-treated osteotomies.
