Abstract in English
In the present work, it has been investigated the effect of the low intensity pulsed ultrasound on the use of demineralized bone matrix used as bone gap filling material in experimental diaphysial osteotomies of rabbit radius bone. Preserved periosteum 1 cm bone gaps have been surgically created in the radius bone diaphysis and filled with demineralized bone powder. The experimental animals received the ultrasound stimulus for 15 days following the surgery and were observed for until 30 days. The sacrifices were performed 15, 30 and 45 days after surgery. In order to study the healing process evaluation were performed at the end of the 3 periods. The bone gaps whose received demineralized bone matrix and low intensity and low intensity ultrasound simulation presented a remarkable aceleration in the bone formation process as shown by histological and radiological evaluation.
