Abstract in English
In a comparative perspective, between literature and society, this thesis analyzes space and speech in two Angolan narratives, Quem me dera ser onda (1982), by Manuel Rui, and Bom dia camaradas (2000), by Ondjaki. In chapter 1, I contextualise the time of the diegesis, examining the speech of characters, the narrator and the socialist lexicon, during the 80s. In chapter 2, the analysis focuses on the representation of spaces of city Luanda, in three instances: private, collective and public, in other words: house/home, buildings/apartment anda school; as well as its relations with the speech. In chapter 3, I demonstrate how space and speech are interconnected to the counterspeech (mujimbo). Inside this, I hope also demonstrate how the system of social contradictions suture the structure of the narratives.
