Cara-de-Bronze, uma das sete narrativas que integram o Corpo de baile de Guimarães Rosa, caracteriza-se pela variedade de seus recursos técnico-formais, que incluem narração, texto dramático, notas de rodapé, um roteiro cinematográfico e formas de expressão da cultura popular. O objetivo deste trabalho é demonstrar como esse complexo arranjo formal deriva da configuração de uma experiência histórica específica, relacionada ao modo como o capitalismo industrial se desenvolveu no Brasil, conjugando-se com instituições, práticas e valores legados de nosso passado colonial.

Cara de Bronze is one of the seven narratives which makes up Corpo de Baile, written by Guimarães Rosa. This narrative is characterized by its variety of technical and formal resources, including narration, dramatic text, footnotes, a film script, and modes of expression of popular culture. The aim of this work is to demonstrate how this complex formal arrangement derives from a specific historic experience, which is related to the way industrial capitalism was developed in Brazil, combining with institutions, practices and values that were legacies of our colonial past.
