A dissertação possui como objetivo desenvolver uma análise de O Primo Basílio de Eça de Queirós com ênfase na configuração da personagem Luísa, bem como na conduta da própria ao longo do enredo, evidenciando seu caráter transgressor ante a sociedade aburguesada lisboeta da segunda metade do século XIX. Proceder-se-á, ademais, a uma leitura situando as críticas contemporâneas e posteriores à publicação da obra em 1878 sobre esses aspectos do romance.

Also, shall be proceeded an exploration of these particular matters in the contemporary and posterior criticism about this subject of the book.
