Esses agentes da colonização, com seus papeis diversificados, participaram à formação de um território político português cuja extensão foi definida pelas relações com as populações indígenas

The following dissertation aims at the study of the portuguese colonization of western Amazônia, and it will consider the action of significant social agents such as the Carmelite missionaries and the sertanistas.
