A importância de refletir sobre os temas amazônicos relativos ao meio ambiente, ao desenvolvimento regional e sua sustentabilidade, motivou este estudo que insere-se no debate sobre as estratégias territoriais recentes de uso e aproveitamento do patrimônio natural da biodiversidade na Amazônia. O foco da análise está dirigido ao processo de desenvolvimento do APL dos fitoterápicos e fitocosméticos localizado em Manaus, Barreirinha e Manaquiri, no estado do Amazonas. O trabalho identificou e avaliou por meio de levantamentos e estudos empíricos, o estado atual da política de apoio aos arranjos produtivos locais na Amazônia, em especial no estado do Amazonas. Os aspectos associados à estrutura organizacional e institucional dessa política pública na região são aqui apresentados e analisados com destaque para a relação existente entre as atividades produtivas de comunidades locais e o desenvolvimento regional proposto pelos atores envolvidos no arranjo produtivo dos fitoterápicos e fitocosméticos.

The importance of reflecting on the issues related to the Amazonian environment, regional development and sustainability, which motivated this study is part of the debate on the territorial strategies of recent use and enjoyment of the natural heritage of biodiversity in the Amazon. The focus is directed to the development process of APL and herbal phytocosmetic located in Manaus, and Barreirinha Manaquiri, the state of Amazonas. The study identified and evaluated through surveys and empirical studies, the current state policy to support local production arrangements in the Amazon, especially in the state of Amazonas. The aspects associated with organizational and institutional structure of public policy in the region are presented and analyzed with emphasis on the relationship between the productive activities of local communities and regional development proposed by the actors involved in the arrangement and production of herbal phytocosmetics.
