Essa dissertação discute, sobre a ótica geográfica, o papel do município de Jundiaí localizado entre as duas principais regiões metropolitanas do estado de São Paulo: Campinas e São Paulo. O município de Jundiaí constitui-se como um pólo de desenvolvimento industrial diversificado que possibilitou, ao município, investimentos na área de serviços e infra-estrutura urbana (saúde, educação, comércio e transporte), tornando-o referência para os municípios vizinhos. A constatação do município de Jundiaí como um pólo de desenvolvimento industrial e de serviços urbanos, que polariza os municípios vizinhos, fez com que esta dissertação tivesse como referencial teórico os trabalhos de Perroux e Rochefort. As suas teorias, respectivamente, teoria dos pólos de desenvolvimento e teoria da rede urbana regional foram utilizadas com o objetivo de identificar e delimitar a área de influência do município de Jundiaí.

The dissertation discuses on the geographical viewpoint, the role of the city of Jundiaí located between the two main metropolitan regions of the state of São Paulo: Campinas and São Paulo. The city of Jundiaí consists of a center of diverse industrial development that has allowed itself investments in the area of services and infrastructure (health, education, trade and transportation); this is making Jundiaí the reference of neighboring cities. The finding of the municipality of Jundiaí as a pole of industrial development and urban services, which polarizes the neighboring cities, it made this dissertation has as theoretical reference work on Perroux and Rochefort. Their theories, respectively, theory of poles of development and theory of urban regional network were used in order in identify and delineate the area of influence of the city of Jundiaí.
