Abstract in English
Studies on religiosity in Brazil has revealed, in recent years, the importance of the internet for religious groups, interested in opportunities for coexistence, in the exchange of information and knowledge, in liturgical service offering, in attracting and converting new adherents, in fighting other denominations and inter-religious policy articulation. They demonstrate the great diversification of religious usages can assign to digital media, re-meaning in cyberspace sacred transmission according to the specificities of the different religions. However, this observation and field studies have turned especially for the analysis of hegemonic groups in religious Brazilian online market, as catholics, evangelicals and spiritists, to the detriment of participation of minority groups. The purpose of this study, therefore, is to contribute to progress in this area still little exploited of the research on the presence of Afro-Brazilian religions in cyberspace and emphasize the links this phenomenon with the recent disputes within the Brazilian afro- religious field, in particular, within the group of Yoruba tradition.
