Esta tese é um estudo sobre a produção cinematográfica de Pernambuco no marco de 20 anos (1996-2016). Nesse período em que a cena se estabeleceu e alcançou legitimação nacional e internacional é possível notar a existência de duas gerações de cineastas. Pretende-se refletir sobre as especificidades de cada grupo, a partir da análise dos posicionamentos assumidos tanto no campo do cinema como no espaço propriamente simbólico das obras. Para isso, a pesquisa se ampara em três eixos metodológicos que se referem à trajetória social dos cineastas, à configuração objetiva da produção e às representações, sentimentos e valores compartilhados. O objetivo é mapear as similaridades e diferenças que conformam a estrutura de sentimento e o regime de independência praticado pelos dois grupos geracionais. O primeiro capítulo, construído de forma relacional, demarca a tradição tanto do campo do cinema nacional como do campo cultural recifense, enfatizando a história do cinema em Pernambuco. O segundo aborda a geração que despontou em meados dos anos 1990 e o terceiro a que iniciou a carreira no começo dos anos 2000.

This thesis is a study about the film production of Pernambuco in the frame of 20 years (1996-2016). In this period that the scene established itself and achieved national and international legitimation, its possible to notice the existence of two generations of filmmakers. It therefore intend to reflect on the specificities of each group, from the analysis of the positions assumed both in the field of cinema and in the symbolic space of the films itself. For this, the research is based on three methodological axes that refer to the social trajectory of the filmmakers, the objective configuration of the production and the shared representations, feelings and values. The objective is to map the similarities and differences that conform the structure of feeling and the regime of Independence practiced by the two generational groups. The first chapter, built on a relationally way, demarcates the tradition of both the larger Brazilian cinema field as the Recife cultural field, emphasizing the history of cinema in Pernambuco. The second addresses the generation that emerged in the mid-1990s and the third adresses the generation that began its career in the early 2000s.
