O principal objetivo desta dissertação de Mestrado em Sociologia foi investigar a mediação dos "especialistas da subjetividade", tal como foram concebidos neste estudo, na relação entre pais e filhos e entre professores e alunos. O objeto da análise foram as produções de Rosely Sayão, Tania Zagury e Içami Tiba. A montagem de três recortes, elaborados a partir de outros contextos históricos brasileiros, recuperou a relação mediada pelo discurso científico-especializado entre os membros da família e entre os da escola, e permitiu o confronto com um novo tipo de mediação exercida na contemporaneidade. Assim, embora haja uma permanência no tempo desta relação mediada no processo educativo, ela assume contornos inéditos na sociedade atual, pois o "especialista" é imerso na lógica do planejamento de mercado, do marketing, da produção em larga escala e da circulação nos diferentes meios de comunicação. Tal "especialista" ganha, então, os contornos do "especialista da subjetividade".

The main objective of this Sociology Master's Dissertation was to investigate the mediation of the "subjectivity specialists" - as conceived in this study - on the relation between parents and their children as well as between teachers and their students. The object of this analysis were the works of Rosely Sayão, Tania Zagury and Içami Tiba. The construction of three cuts, elaborated from another Brazilian historical contexts, recalled the mediated relation by the scientific-specialised discourse between the family members and between the school members, and allowed the confrontation with a new kind of mediation exerted in contemporaneity. So, although there is a permanence in time of this mediated relation at the educative process, it assumes unedited contours on contemporary society, because the "specialist" is immersed in the market, marketing, large scale production logic and circulation on the different means of communication planning. Such "specialist" acquires so, the contours of the "subjectivity specialist".
