A inserção prematura do jovem trabalhador no mundo do trabalho visa o complemento da renda familiar, a afirmação de sua autonomia e a efetivação do valor simbólico que confere ao trabalho. Contudo, a pertença a um estrato de classe de baixa renda, sua pouca qualificação educacional, sobremaneira profissional, e as escassas oportunidades que lhes são oferecidas pelo mercado de trabalho, constituem obstáculos para que esse jovem ocupe um ofício que o satisfaça subjetivamente. A abordagem desta pesquisa consiste em perquirir os dilemas por que passa o jovem operário dividido entre as aspirações subjetivas, em relação a uma profissão desejada, e as condições objetivas de sua ocupação. Trata-se, portanto, de enfocar e esquadrinhar o conflito entre trabalho real e anseio subjetivo e as estratégias que os jovens operários utilizam para sobrepujá-lo, à medida que procuram delinear suas identidades de trabalhadores.

The premature insertion of the worker young in the labour’s world aims to fill in the familiar income, the affirmation of his autonomy and the execution of the symbolic value that he awards for the labour. However, the fact that he belongs a class stratum whose income is low, his little educational qualification, above all the professional, and the scarce opportunities offered him by the labour market, constitute obstacles for this worker young to occupy a craft that satisfy him subjectively. The approach of this research consists of investigating the dilemmas by that lives the worker young divided among the subjective aspirations, in regard to a dreamed profession, and the objective conditions of his occupation. Thus, the purpose here is to focus and to examine the conflict between real work and subjective aspiration and also the strategies used by the worker youths to overcome it, at the same time that they search to outline their workers’ identities.
