Abstract in English
Although political representation has occupied a smaller portion within a bigger scenario of political theory, as it is discussed as a fraction of the debate on democracy it has, anyhow, awaken a growing interest in the researches of the last few decades. However, the discussions mostly relate to empirical aspects of representation such as political parties, the study of deputies and senators, party migration, social movements leaving in the outskirts a more theoretical reflection on the nature of representation, its ranges and limits, its philosophical meaning. In the current paper an aesthetic and theatrical approach is given to study representation. Authors such as Bernard Manin, Frank Ankersmit and Richard Sennett are discussed. An attempt in relating the theatrical and political manifestations of representation is pursued in the light of the representative democracy.
