Este projeto teve como foco de pesquisa o uso de aulas práticas, empregando-se do método investigativo em busca da alfabetização científica de alunos do ensino fundamental II. Como referencial teórico foram utilizados os trabalhos de Lúcia Helena Sasseron e Ana Maria Pessoa de Carvalho, cujas pesquisas são voltadas à Alfabetização Científica de estudantes do Ensino Fundamental. Foram propostos atividades investigativas no laboratório de química como instrumento de coleta de dados com estudantes do 9o ano do ensino fundamental da rede privada de ensino, da cidade de Descalvado. Com isso, foi possível observar o potencial que as atividades investigativas possuem na promoção da Alfabetização Científica para alunos do 9o ano auxiliando na inserção desses estudantes numa sociedade onde, constantemente é exigida a capacidade de reflexão em problemas do cotidiano.

This project focused on research the use of practical classes, using the investigative method in search of scientific literacy of elementary school students II. As theoretical reference were used the works of Lucia Helena Sasseron and Ana Maria Pessoa de Carvalho, whose research is focused on the Scientific Literacy of elementary school students. Investigative activities were proposed in the chemistry laboratory as a data collection instrument with 9th grade students from the private elementary school in the city of Descalvado. With this, it was possible to observe the potential that the investigative activities have in the promotion of Scientific Literacy for 9th grade students helping in the insertion of these students in a society where the ability to reflect on daily problems is constantly required.
