Os povos indígenas são parte essencial do processo de formação territorial, social, cultural e político pelo qual o país passou e vem passando. Essas sociedades são portadoras de uma história de longa duração que sempre desempenharam um papel ativo e criativo diante dos desafios impostos pelo avanço dos conquistadores no passado e na atualidade. Diante desta premissa e com o intuito de contribuir para o escopo da História Indígena, propomos a realização de um trabalho interdisciplinar a partir da utilização conjunta de dados advindos de diferentes fontes - históricas e arqueológicas - para elaborar uma narrativa da dinâmica de ocupação territorial indígena no Vale do Rio Tapajós.

Indigenous peoples are an essential part of the training process territorial, social, cultural and political development in which the country has undergone and passed. These societies are living with a history of long duration which have always played an active and creative in the face of challenges posed by the advance of the conquerors in the past and at present. Given this premise, and in order to contribute to the scope of Indian History, we propose the realization of interdisciplinary work from the joint use of data coming from different sources - historical and archaeological - to develop a narrative of the dynamics of territorial occupation in indigenous Vale do Rio Tapajós.
